| These
folkloric recordings of the Gnawa musicians of Morocco were made
by Tucker Martine in 1994. The Gnawa, mix Arabic, Berber and black
African rhythms, as well as Islamic and tribal religious traditions.
Although recorded in the field, these tracks have a bright sonic
clarity that matches the amazing energy of the performances. |
