The guiding musical style for Barrio Chino is flamenco rumba, and their current musical explorations follow the constantly evolving Camino de la Rumba. Barrio Chino has collaborated with Papo Pepin, Ai Ai Ai (Catalán rumberos, and the musicians of Gato Perez), Oba Ilu and Conexion Salsera. Other inspiration comes from Greek bouzouki, Sephardic mandolin music, and Arabic-Andalucian percussion.
